An American citizen, Rafizadeh is originally from Iran and Syria. According to the BBC cover story, a book entitled “America: Our Sacred Honor”, and Voice of America, Rafizadeh grew up in a mixed ethnic family. During childhood, his family struggled to survive in poverty.
